This plugin will help you to create a lof-slider view from a custom category through widgets.

Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/lof-slider-news directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress
go to appearance – > widgets and add “Lof Slider News widget” to where you want
