HiFiBots AI Agents – AI Content Writer, Chatbot & Inline Editor

الوصف

HiFiBots AI Agents brings a whole fleet of AI agents into WordPress — not one chatbot, and not one AI writer, but a dozen specialists that each do one job properly, sharing a single keyword plan, internal-linking spine, and brand voice.

This plugin is the WordPress end of that fleet. It connects your site to your HiFiBots account at wp.hifibots.com and gives the agents a safe, permissioned way to work on your site. HiFiBots is the AI-first content platform behind the HiFi-WP product line, from Augmentable LLC.

What this plugin does on your site

These are the capabilities the plugin itself installs into WordPress:

  • Publishing endpoint — agents create and update posts, pages, and custom post types with real titles, meta, excerpts, taxonomies, and ACF field values
  • Content structure builder — custom post types and ACF field groups are created for you, inside ACF’s own store, so they appear in ACF Post Types (works with free ACF)
  • Riverstep inline editor — AI-assisted, block-accurate edits to Gutenberg content directly on the published page, for the roles you allow
  • Onsite chatbot — a bubble on your pages that answers from your own indexed content, plus a [hifibots_chat] launcher for a hosted AI agent
  • Instant RAG indexing — publish or update a watched post and the chatbot’s knowledge base refreshes itself
  • Affiliate link handling — cloaked /go/{slug} redirects with server-side click reporting, and opt-in outbound click analytics (OFF by default)
  • Knowledge base layout — a two-column documentation template with a nav tree, breadcrumbs, section indexes, and prev/next, plus [hifibots_kb_tree], [hifibots_kb_breadcrumbs], [hifibots_kb_children] and [hifibots_kb_index] shortcodes

Why an agent fleet instead of one AI

A blog post, a live news update, a translated page, and a structured product catalog are not the same job. HiFiBots runs a specialist agent for each, all sharing one keyword and internal-linking spine — so the topic you plan is the page you publish, the link you route, and the answer your chatbot gives.

Built for AI search, not just Google

Content published through HiFiBots is structured to be quoted by AI answer engines — question-shaped headings, short extractable answers, and FAQPage structured data emitted automatically at publish time. That is the work that earns citations in AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity.

Who it is for

WordPress professionals, agencies running multiple client sites, publishers, and affiliate marketers who want content, SEO structure, internal linking, an on-site chatbot, and monetization from one place instead of five subscriptions.

This plugin requires a HiFi-WP account and a user-level API key from the HiFi-WP dashboard at wp.hifibots.com/downloads.

External Services

This plugin connects to HiFi-WP / HiFiBots services operated by Augmentable LLC. A HiFi-WP account is required for most features.

Service URLs

  • API: https://wordpressgpt-api-325927718367.us-central1.run.app
  • Web app (chat widget, SSO, AI agent): https://wp.hifibots.com

What is sent, when, and why

  • Connection check (admin settings): your saved API key and Site ID are sent to the API to verify that the account and site are valid and reachable. All plugin settings remain fully accessible regardless of the result.
  • AI publishing & REST tools (when agents post or update content): post content, titles, meta, custom post types, ACF field values, and site identifiers — so content can be created or updated on your site.
  • Riverstep inline editor (when a logged-in user runs an AI edit): the selected content fragment, editing instruction, and optional read-only context (article title, meta description, neighboring sections) — so the AI can rewrite in place.
  • Onsite chatbot (when enabled and a visitor opens chat): Site ID, site URL, page URL, page title, and chat messages — so the chatbot can answer using your indexed content.
  • Offsite AI agent / SSO launcher (when enabled): Site ID, site URL, and launch context — so visitors can open your hosted AI agent at wp.hifibots.com.
  • Instant chatbot indexing (RAG) (when content changes on watched post types): post ID, post type, title, URL, and change event metadata — so the chatbot knowledge base stays up to date.
  • CTA email-capture forms (when a visitor submits an inline form): email address and CTA/campaign identifiers — proxied server-side with your API key (the key is never exposed to visitors).
  • Outbound click analytics (public front-end, opt-in and OFF by default): only sent if you explicitly enable “Outbound Click Analytics” in the settings. When enabled, the Site ID, site URL, and anonymous click metadata for tagged monetization links are sent to the performance dashboard. Only the public Site ID is used in the browser; the API key is not exposed to visitors.
  • Affiliate redirect clicks (/go/{slug}): click metadata is reported server-side when cloaked links are followed.

Terms & privacy

No data is sent to these services until you configure an API key (and Site ID where required) and enable a feature. Outbound click analytics is off by default and only runs if you explicitly enable it.

Privacy

This plugin stores your HiFi-WP API key and Site ID in the WordPress options table on your server. Content and visitor interactions are transmitted to HiFi-WP services only as described in External Services above, when the corresponding feature is enabled.

الأسئلة المتكررّة

Is this an official WordPress plugin?

No. It is an independent third-party plugin published by Augmentable LLC, hosted in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory like any other community plugin. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the WordPress Foundation, WordPress.org, or Automattic Inc. WordPress® is a registered trademark of the WordPress Foundation — see Trademarks.

Which agents do I actually get?

Twelve specialists, not one general-purpose bot: Quick Poster for publishing, CPT & ACF Creator for content structure, the RAG chatbot and live assistant, the Inline Editor, CTA / Affiliates / Monetization, SEO / GEO / AEO optimization, Brand Voice, Content Scheduling, Breaking News coverage, Translation, Social Media Lore, and the Research Clipper browser extension. Browse the catalog to see each one.

What does this plugin actually do?

It connects WordPress to the HiFiBots agent fleet. Once connected, AI agents can publish content to your site, create the custom post types and ACF fields that content needs, edit existing pages in place, and run a chatbot that answers your visitors using your own posts and pages.

Is this an AI chatbot plugin or an AI content plugin?

Both. Most tools do one or the other — HiFiBots does the whole loop: the same content your agents publish is what the on-site chatbot answers from, and the same keyword plan routes your internal links.

Do I need an account to use this plugin?

Yes. The plugin installs and every setting is fully accessible, but the features that depend on the HiFiBots service — AI publishing, the inline editor’s AI assist, the chatbot, and content indexing — need an active HiFi-WP account and API key from wp.hifibots.com. Nothing in the plugin is locked or disabled locally.

Does the chatbot use my own content?

Yes. It is a RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) chatbot: your selected posts, pages, and custom post types are indexed, and answers are generated from that content — not from generic web knowledge. When you publish or update a watched post, the index refreshes automatically.

Does it work with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)?

Yes, including the free version. Custom post types are created inside ACF’s own store, so they appear in and are managed from the ACF Post Types dashboard. Sites without ACF fall back to native WordPress registration.

Will AI-published content be generic AI slop?

Content is written against your brand voice and grounded in real research, then structured for WordPress — proper headings, custom fields, internal links, and FAQ schema. You can always edit it; you just start at 90% instead of 0%.

Does this help me get cited by ChatGPT and AI Overviews?

That is what the answer-engine structure is for. Published content uses question-shaped headings with short, extractable answers and emits FAQPage structured data automatically — the on-page work that earns citations in AI answers. No tool can guarantee a citation, and anyone claiming a “rank” inside ChatGPT is guessing.

Can I use this on multiple client sites?

Yes. HiFiBots is built for agencies — multiple sites under one account, team seats, and a fully white-labeled platform. Install the plugin on each client site and connect it with that site’s key.

Do I need to click Test Connection?

No. After you save your API key and Site ID, the plugin checks the connection automatically (at most once every 6 hours). Test Connection is optional and forces an immediate re-check.

Should I keep the old plugins active?

No. V3 is intended to replace the older Publisher and Chat SSO plugins. Deactivate old HiFi-WP plugins before using V3 runtime features.

Does the plugin track my visitors?

No, not unless you ask it to. Outbound click analytics is opt-in and OFF by default. Nothing about visitor clicks is sent anywhere unless you explicitly enable “Outbound Click Analytics” in the settings.

Is there a companion browser extension?

Yes — Research Clips by HiFi-WP clips web pages, PDFs, and screenshots into collections that feed your publishing pipelines.

سجل التغييرات

3.0.17

  • Security: the anonymous chat launch-token endpoint is now rate limited per IP and checks a nonce. It previously had neither, so an automated loop could spend the site owner’s API quota unchecked. Visitors on cached pages with a stale nonce still work — they fall back to a stricter limit rather than being rejected.
  • Security: the CTA form submission route now verifies the nonce the front end was already sending but that was never checked, and applies its own per-IP rate limit.
  • The settings screen now explains the agent fleet instead of presenting bare switches: each tab names the agent that does the work behind it and links to that agent’s page, and the header carries links to the catalog, how-it-works, and plans.
  • Added “Agents” to the plugin’s action links, plus “How it works” and “Agent demos” to its row on the Plugins page.
  • Listing description rewritten around the twelve agents, with the plugin’s own WordPress-side capabilities listed separately from the agents that publish through it.
  • Added plugin icon artwork for the WordPress.org listing.

3.0.16

  • The knowledge base template now only applies when WordPress would otherwise fall back to a generic template. Post types whose pages are already handled by a theme or another plugin are left untouched, so the KB layout can no longer take over another documentation plugin.

3.0.15

  • Hierarchical numbering in the knowledge base tree (1, 1.1, 1.1.1) and numbered section index cards. Numbers derive from menu order automatically; the report title itself stays unnumbered.

3.0.14

  • New [hifibots_kb_index] shortcode: a card grid of every knowledge base report (all top-level articles) with a short excerpt and section count. Drop it on any page to create a documentation front door.

3.0.13

  • Previous/Next links on knowledge base articles now page through siblings of the same parent in menu order. They previously relied on shared categories and disappeared when none were assigned.

3.0.12

  • The child index on a top-level knowledge base page is now titled ‘In this report’; nested pages keep ‘In this section’.

3.0.11

  • The ‘On this page’ navigation now sits in its own column beside the article on wide screens instead of overlapping the text while scrolling. On narrow screens it stays inline between the title and the article.

3.0.10

  • Fixed a fatal error when rendering the ‘On this page’ navigation on knowledge base articles.

3.0.9

  • Knowledge base layout now works inside boxed themes: the docs layout sizes itself to the viewport instead of the theme’s content column, and the ‘On this page’ rail activates based on the layout’s own width rather than the screen width.
  • Section index excerpts are generated from the article text directly, so theme ‘read more’ markup no longer appears as literal text.

3.0.8

  • Knowledge base pages now use a two-column documentation layout: a navigation tree on the left and the article on the right, with breadcrumbs, an index of the pages inside each section, and previous/next links. The sidebar collapses on mobile. Themes that provide their own single-{post type}.php template continue to take precedence.

3.0.7

  • Added knowledge base display shortcodes: [hifibots_kb_tree] renders a nested navigation tree, [hifibots_kb_breadcrumbs] shows the trail of parent pages, and [hifibots_kb_children] lists the pages inside a section. These work with any hierarchical post type and inherit your theme’s styling.

3.0.6

  • Custom post types can now be registered as hierarchical, so a post can have a parent. This lets nested content — such as a knowledge base or documentation tree — keep its structure instead of arriving as a flat list of unrelated posts. Hierarchical types also gain the Parent selector in the editor. Existing post types are unaffected and stay flat unless explicitly created as hierarchical.

3.0.5

  • Fixed missing JavaScript and CSS runtime assets in the downloadable plugin.

3.0.4

  • Unified every internal identifier (functions, defines, options, transients, AJAX actions, script/style handles) under the single plugin-distinct hifibots_ prefix, matching the public [hifibots_chat] shortcode.
  • Removed the Custom Post Type UI integration. Custom post types are now created inside ACF’s own store (via acf_update_post_type) so they appear in and are managed from the ACF Post Types dashboard, and work with the free version of ACF. Sites without ACF fall back to native registration.
  • Removed pre-release legacy option migration code paths.
  • Uninstall now removes every option, transient, and scheduled event the plugin creates.
  • Connection settings fields no longer trigger browser password-manager autofill, which could overwrite the API key and Site ID with the site’s WordPress login on save.

3.0.3

  • Updated API key field help text: documents hifi_ prefix keys.

3.0.2

  • Hardened naming uniqueness for WordPress.org best practices: the admin settings page slug is now hifibots-ai-agents (was hifi-wp).
  • Settings migration now reads only the plugin’s own prefixed option names; removed a legacy reserved-prefix (wp_) option fallback.

3.0.1

  • Floating chat widget: unified panel chrome with TPS report chat (S/M/L size presets, drag resize, full-width input).
  • Floating widget iframe now owns the panel header; removed duplicate blue WP header bar.
  • Panel size persists across page loads; resize messages from the iframe update the outer panel dimensions.
  • Accent color and title from plugin settings are passed into the iframe on launch.
  • Content sync now also queues posts that match selected categories/tags, not only selected post types, so tagged content reaches the chatbot index promptly.
  • “Categories & Tags” diagnostics now list the actual selected term names instead of just a count.
  • Moved Outbound Click Analytics to the Connection Settings tab where it belongs.
  • Removed an unnecessary set_time_limit() call (HTTP request already has its own timeout).

3.0.0

  • First public release of the unified HiFiBots AI Agents plugin.
  • Unified settings screen: Connection, Custom Post Type Plugin, Riverstep Inline Editor, Chatbot & AI Agent.
  • Riverstep inline front-end editor with AI-assisted, block-accurate edits.
  • Onsite chatbot bubble and offsite/hosted AI agent launcher shortcode ([hifibots_chat]).
  • Automatic custom post type and ACF field group creation, AI content publishing, and instant content indexing — all powered by your HiFiBots account.
  • All settings and features are fully accessible locally; features that rely on the external HiFiBots service simply require a valid account and API key to operate.
  • Outbound click analytics is opt-in and OFF by default.
  • Automatic connection verification on the settings screen (Test Connection optional).
  • Full External Services and Privacy documentation.
